Sowore released the video on Sunday, November 1, claiming it revealed the faces of people who attacked him and members of his team at Tawakalitu Restaurant in Ado-Ekiti on October 30.
The activist described the footage as a major breakthrough in efforts to identify those responsible for the incident. He also alleged that some CCTV recordings from the restaurant had been erased after security operatives took possession of the recording equipment.
His allegations concerning the handling of the CCTV footage have not been independently established.
The development came after the Ekiti State Police Command announced the arrest of 11 suspects in connection with the alleged attack.
Police spokesperson Abutu Sunday said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad in the Atikankan area of Ado-Ekiti.
Items reportedly recovered included 13 mobile phones, eight international passports, two walkie-talkies, seven ATM cards, a flash drive and substances suspected to be Indian hemp and Colorado.
The police said investigations were ongoing to establish the individual roles of the suspects and determine whether other people were involved.
Sowore, however, has maintained that the investigation should go beyond those arrested to identify anyone who allegedly planned, financed or sponsored the attack.
