Nigerian DJ and social media personality DJ Dimple Nipple has weighed in on the recent celebrity boxing bout between Big Brother Naija star Phyna and actress Nkechi Blessing, declaring that she was unimpressed by what she saw in the ring.
In a post shared via Snapchat, DJ Dimple said watching the fight gave her the impression that the two entertainers were “merely playing around” rather than engaging in a serious boxing contest.
According to her, neither Phyna nor Nkechi Blessing would be able to stand against her in the ring.
She also claimed that Nigerian men were reluctant to face her in a boxing match.
DJ Dimple's comments came shortly after Phyna defeated Nkechi Blessing in their celebrity boxing bout at Balmoral Promotions’ Chaos in the Ring event in Lagos on October 1.
Phyna stopped Nkechi Blessing in the fourth round of the scheduled four-round contest, generating significant discussion across social media about the quality of the bout and who should face Phyna next.
However, DJ Dimple offered a different assessment of the encounter.
She said she found “nothing impressive” about the performance of either fighter and suggested that the contest appeared more like entertainment than a serious boxing match.
DJ Dimple's comments add another layer to the growing conversation about Phyna's next potential opponent.
Following Phyna's victory, comedian DeeOne challenged the reality star to face DJ Dimple, arguing that Phyna should fight celebrities closer to her age rather than older opponents such as Nkechi Blessing and Etinosa Idemudia.
Phyna subsequently rejected the suggestion of fighting DJ Dimple, joking that she was not willing to risk her life against the DJ.
Instead, Phyna named content creator Jarvis as the person she would prefer to face next.
DJ Dimple has previously shared videos showing herself undergoing boxing and fitness training.
On October 2, she posted a training clip and challenged Phyna and other women interested in celebrity boxing to step into the ring with her.
Her latest remarks therefore appear to reinforce her interest in participating in the growing celebrity boxing scene in Nigeria.
However, while Phyna jokingly described DJ Dimple as a “professional boxer” when declining the proposed fight, reports reviewed have not established a formal professional boxing record or ranking for the DJ.
Despite the back-and-forth, there is currently no officially confirmed Phyna-DJ Dimple boxing match.
Phyna has indicated that Jarvis is her preferred opponent, while Etinosa Idemudia has reportedly accepted Phyna's earlier challenge.
DJ Dimple, meanwhile, continues to publicly promote her readiness to enter the celebrity boxing ring.
For now, the exchange has added another potential matchup to Nigeria's increasingly popular celebrity boxing scene, with fans waiting to see whether any of the proposed fights will eventually become official.
