‘Obidients Don’t Have Sense’ — APC Supporter Reacts After Alleged Pro-Tinubu Mobilisation Turns Into Obi Rally

An APC supporter has reportedly expressed anger and frustration after an alleged pro-President Bola Tinubu mobilisation in Delta State purportedly turned into an anti-Tinubu protest and a rally in support of Peter Obi.

In a video circulating on social media, the supporter was heard criticising members of the Obidient movement while expressing frustration over what he described as a failed mobilisation exercise.

“Peter Obi’s supporters, Obidients, don’t have sense,” the APC supporter reportedly said in the video, while reacting angrily to the outcome of the gathering.

According to the account accompanying the video, organisers had allegedly been mobilised and paid to participate in a pro-APC campaign in support of Tinubu, but the gathering subsequently took a different direction, with participants chanting against the President and expressing support for Obi.

The claim, however, has not been independently verified, and details of who organised or financed the alleged mobilisation were not immediately established.

The incident comes amid heightened political activity in Delta State ahead of the 2027 general elections, with APC and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), the party platform backing Obi, stepping up grassroots mobilisation.

The APC has already launched grassroots mobilisation initiatives in Delta ahead of the 2027 elections. In July, the party's Aniocha South chapter inaugurated the “Smart Movement for Sheriff 2027”, targeting support for Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other APC candidates.

Political activities in the state have also recently been accompanied by tensions.

On September 18, suspected supporters of the APC and NDC clashed in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area. The Delta State Government subsequently directed security agencies to investigate the incident and prosecute anyone found culpable.

The Delta State Police Command later said it was investigating the incident and appealed for information that could assist its probe. Police also said they had received intelligence about the possibility of a clash and deployed officers to maintain order.

The reported incident comes shortly after supporters of Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, held mobilisation activities in Warri.

The September 18 mobilisation was reportedly disrupted by suspected political thugs, with supporters alleging that attackers targeted members of the NDC campaign team and the Obidient and Kwankwasiya movements. Those allegations were also reported by media outlets and attributed to campaign supporters.

The latest viral account therefore adds another layer to the increasingly intense political contest in Delta ahead of 2027.

While the APC supporter’s remarks have generated reactions online, the allegation that a paid pro-Tinubu mobilisation was deliberately transformed into a “Tinubu must go” protest and Peter Obi rally remains unverified.

The video and accompanying claims should therefore be treated as social-media allegations pending confirmation from the organisers, the APC, security agencies or other independent sources.
