A Nigerian woman has cried out for help after alleging that her entire savings in an Access Bank account were wiped out, leaving her without access to her money.
In a video circulating online, the distressed woman appealed to Nigerians to come to her rescue, claiming that she had been at an Access Bank branch with her children since morning in an attempt to resolve the matter.
“Please come to my rescue. Access Bank has kp@!d me. All my savings have been cleared, all the money in my account,” she was heard saying.
She further alleged that the bank had failed to return her money despite her efforts to seek assistance.
“Access Bank has defrauded me, and they have refused to pay me back my money. They want me to kp@!” she added.
The allegation comes amid recent reports of another Access Bank customer who claimed that approximately N3 million in savings had disappeared from her account through what she described as unauthorised withdrawals. The earlier case also generated public concern after the customer said she had repeatedly approached the bank and was told the matter was under investigation.
Access Bank has official channels for customers to report suspected fraudulent transactions and other account-related complaints, including its 24-hour contact centre, email and branch network. The bank advises customers who suspect fraud to report the matter immediately.
The bank's published financial statements also state that customer complaints are logged, tracked and referred for resolution where they cannot be resolved at the first level.
As of the time of this report, there was no publicly available statement from Access Bank specifically addressing the woman's latest allegation.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged disappearance of the woman's funds remain unclear, and the allegations have not been independently verified.
The case has nevertheless renewed calls for banks to promptly investigate customers' claims of unauthorised transactions and provide clear explanations when account balances are disputed.
