VDM Says Nigerians Are Ready to Buy 10 iPhone 18s as DMs Flood In

Controversial social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has said his direct messages have been flooded with inquiries from Nigerians interested in buying the newly launched iPhone 18 series.

VDM, who recently indicated that he could explore the opportunity of supplying the devices to Nigerians, said some prospective buyers were reportedly prepared to purchase as many as 10 units.

“Una for Nigeria get money! My DMs are full. Some people are ready to buy 10 iPhone 18s,” VDM said while reacting to the volume of messages he claimed to have received.

He added jokingly that Nigerians appeared to have been waiting for the latest Apple devices, saying: “Were you guys waiting for the iPhone 18? No problem, I’ll start selling.”

His comments have generated reactions online, with some followers interpreting the development as a possible new business opportunity for the social commentator.

The interest comes shortly after Apple unveiled its latest premium iPhone lineup, including the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, alongside its first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199, while the Pro Max starts at $1,299.

Social-media posts have also linked VDM to efforts to source iPhone 18 devices from China, amid concerns among Nigerian consumers about possible local price mark-ups. However, the exact terms, quantity and availability of any proposed VDM-led sales arrangement have not been independently confirmed.

For now, VDM's comments suggest that there is strong interest among some Nigerian buyers, while his statement that he would begin selling the devices could signal a potential expansion into smartphone supply and retail.
