In a post on X, Sadiq mentioned former Niger Delta militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, NURTW leader Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, and Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho.
He wrote: “If characters like Tompolo, MC Oluomo, Sunday Igboho, are campaigning for a presidential candidate, you should know the character of that candidate. These are the characters campaigning for Tinubu.”
Sadiq's statement was presented as his political assessment and did not provide evidence that the character of individuals supporting a candidate establishes the character of the candidate himself.
Tompolo has publicly backed President Bola Tinubu's bid for another term in 2027.
Recent reports show that the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, founded by Tompolo, launched its Kano State structure and donated 50 branded vehicles for grassroots mobilisation across the state's 44 local government areas.
Tompolo, through representatives at the Kano launch, urged residents to support Tinubu's re-election, arguing that another four years would allow the administration to consolidate its reforms.
He has also spoken about a political arrangement under which a Tinubu second term would, in his view, create an opportunity for the North to produce the president in 2031. That is Tompolo's political argument rather than an established constitutional or electoral arrangement.
MC Oluomo has similarly made his support for Tinubu public.
In an earlier interview, he said he personally spent money campaigning for Tinubu and described securing the president's victory in 2027 as his priority.
His support for Tinubu therefore is publicly documented, although Sadiq's broader conclusion about what such support says about the president remains his own political interpretation.
Sunday Igboho's inclusion in the post requires additional context.
Igboho remains a prominent Yoruba activist and has recently focused publicly on security issues in the South-West. In September 2026, he announced continued efforts through the Iru Ekun Security Network to combat criminal activities in the region.
The material reviewed does not independently establish that Igboho is currently campaigning for Tinubu in the same organised manner as Tompolo's PBAT movement or MC Oluomo.
Sadiq's post comes as political groups and prominent individuals continue to align themselves with different presidential candidates ahead of the 2027 election.
The emergence of campaign structures around major political figures has also generated debates over endorsements, political alliances and the influence of prominent grassroots actors.
However, an individual's decision to support a candidate does not by itself establish the candidate's policies, conduct or character. Those issues are matters that voters can assess from the candidate's documented record, public statements, policies and actions.
Sadiq's comments therefore add to the ongoing political debate over the personalities surrounding the various 2027 presidential campaigns, rather than constituting independent evidence against President Tinubu.
