Tinubu Celebrates Oluremi at 66, Says Her Patience, Grace and Courage Have Sustained Him

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as a woman who has stood beside him with “patience, grace and uncommon courage.”

In a heartfelt birthday message shared on Monday, September 21, 2026, Tinubu addressed his wife affectionately as “Oluremi mi”, reflecting on their years together and her support throughout his political and public-service journey.

“Today, I celebrate the woman who has walked beside me with patience, grace and uncommon courage,” the President said.

Tinubu described the First Lady as his “truest friend and confidante,” saying she had remained a source of counsel and support, particularly during difficult periods.

He said Oluremi had often understood his concerns even before he expressed them and had been willing to tell him difficult truths when necessary.

The President also praised her devotion to their family, noting the role she has played in raising their children and supporting their grandchildren.

Beyond her role as his wife, the President highlighted Oluremi Tinubu’s humanitarian activities, referencing her work through the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative.

According to him, the initiatives have reached young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers, among other groups.

He also described her as compassionate and committed to helping people irrespective of their tribe, region or religion.

Reflecting on their decades together, Tinubu said their journey had involved difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer.

He added that if he had the opportunity to begin his life again, he would make the same choice.

“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you,” the President said.

He concluded the message by thanking Oluremi for the life they have built together and praying for her continued health and happiness.

“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi. I pray that God Almighty will grant you many more years in good health and joy,” Tinubu said.

The birthday message has also drawn congratulatory messages from political leaders and public figures, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau.
