Shettima is scheduled to deliver Nigeria's national statement on Thursday, September 24, with the Federal Government saying his address will focus on Nigeria's position on global peace and security, development, economic growth and international cooperation.
According to the Presidency, Nigeria is expected to use the UNGA engagements to advance its position on reform of the international financial architecture, sustainable development, climate finance, technology access and stronger representation for Africa in global decision-making.
Shettima is also expected to participate in bilateral meetings with foreign leaders, international organisations and development partners on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
