Shehu Gazali Sadiq Accuses APC Supporters of ‘Psychological Abuse’ Over Tinubu Support

 Social commentator Shehu Gazali Sadiq has launched a fresh attack on supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing some of the party’s online supporters of hiding behind anonymous accounts while defending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sadiq made the remarks in a post on X, where he also criticised what he described as the psychological consequences of supporting the Tinubu administration.

According to Sadiq, many of the accounts defending the APC online operate without revealing the identities or photographs of their owners.

“Most of the APC online thugs are operating faceless accounts,” Sadiq wrote.

He questioned why such supporters allegedly refuse to use their authentic photographs, adding that he considered their anonymity a reflection of embarrassment over the political position they hold.

“Shame does not allow them to upload their authentic photos,” he said.

The comments come amid increasingly heated political exchanges on social media as supporters of the APC and opposition parties intensify their campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Sadiq also repeated allegations against President Tinubu, referring to him using terms including “drug lord” and “certificate forger.”

Those are serious allegations that Sadiq has made in his political commentary, but they remain claims by the commentator and should not be treated as established facts.

Sadiq has previously made similar allegations against Tinubu in posts on X.

The social commentator went further to argue that Nigerians who support Tinubu are experiencing what he described as psychological abuse as a consequence of defending the President.

“Tinubu's supporters are suffering psychological abuse from supporting Tinubu,” he stated.

His comments reflect the increasingly personal and confrontational nature of political discourse online, particularly between supporters of the APC and opposition figures.

The latest statement comes as Nigerian political conversations increasingly shift toward the 2027 elections, with supporters of President Tinubu defending his administration's policies while opposition voices challenge his record and call for political change.

Social media has become a major arena for the contest, with anonymous and pseudonymous accounts frequently participating in political arguments.

Sadiq's comments are therefore likely to generate further reactions from both APC supporters and opponents of the administration.
