Man Laments After Neighbour Takes All Three Sachets of Water From His Fridge

A Nigerian social media user, Ebuka The Big Head, has shared a humorous but frustrating encounter with his neighbour after she allegedly entered his apartment and left with the last three sachets of water in his refrigerator.

Ebuka, in a post on X, said the incident happened after his female neighbour walked into his apartment without knocking while he was working.

According to him, the neighbour sat down and attempted to have a conversation with him, but he informed her that he was busy working.

He said she subsequently told him that she only wanted water.

Ebuka said he casually gave her permission to get water from the refrigerator, telling her, “Go to the fridge and take some.”

However, he said he did not realise the extent to which she had taken his instruction until later that evening when he was preparing to eat.

According to his account, he discovered that the woman had taken all three sachets of water that were remaining in his refrigerator.

He said the discovery left him angry, particularly because he had not intended for her to take all the available water.

Ebuka said his frustration continued into the following morning when his neighbour greeted him on her way to work.

He disclosed that he deliberately did not respond to her greeting because he was still upset about what had happened.

The post has drawn attention to the humorous side of everyday neighbourly interactions, particularly the different interpretations people can give to casual instructions.

While Ebuka appeared to view the incident as an excessive use of his hospitality, his post has also highlighted the importance of being specific when giving someone permission to take something from a shared household resource.
