LadiSpeaks Says He ‘Sent’ APC Supporter Money, Then Reveals It Was a Lesson on Political Promises

Political commentator Israel Oladipupo Ogunseye, popularly known as LadiSpeaks, has recounted an unusual exchange with an alleged supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying he deliberately made the man believe he had received money to illustrate what he described as the impact of political promises on Nigerians.

Ogunseye shared the account on social media, saying the APC supporter had allegedly insulted him during an online exchange.

According to him, he subsequently followed the man into his direct messages at about 11pm and asked for his bank account number.

He said the man provided the details, after which Ogunseye told him he would send money before he went to sleep.

Ogunseye said he then sent a message claiming that the transfer had been made, although, according to his own account, he did not actually send any money.

He explained that his intention was to make the man experience what he described as the frustration associated with “fake promises and propaganda” by politicians.

According to Ogunseye, the man later sent him about six messages complaining that the money had not arrived.

Ogunseye said he responded by telling him that he would receive the money when Nigerians began seeing the benefits of the reforms being promoted by President Bola Tinubu's administration.

“I did not send him the money, I just want him to feel how fake promises and propaganda of APC hurt Nigerians,” Ogunseye said.

The account has generated discussion online about political promises, economic reforms and the expectations of Nigerians who support different political parties.

Ogunseye's comments come as political activity ahead of the 2027 general elections intensifies. He recently announced his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Mushin Federal Constituency II under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In his campaign announcement, Ogunseye said his political involvement was driven by grassroots engagement and a desire to contribute to development in his constituency.

His latest post, however, focused on the political argument over the economic reforms of the Tinubu administration and whether Nigerians are experiencing tangible benefits from them.

While supporters of the administration have continued to defend its reform programme, critics have questioned the pace at which improvements are reaching households.

Ogunseye's story therefore presented the alleged exchange as a political message rather than a genuine financial transaction, using the incident to criticise what he considers unfulfilled political promises.
