KWAM1 Settles Long-Standing Rift Between MC Oluomo, Tafa Sego

Fuji music star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM1, has brokered a reconciliation between National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) President, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, and the Lagos State chairman of the union, Mustapha Adekunle, aka Tafa Sego.

The reconciliation took place on Tuesday at Ojusagbola in Ijebu, Ogun State, during a meeting attended by several NURTW chieftains.

The two men, who had been involved in a long-running disagreement, reportedly spoke about their grievances before shaking hands and embracing as part of the peace process.

KWAM1’s media aide, Kunle Rasheed, told Premium Times that the reconciliation followed separate private discussions the musician had held with both MC Oluomo and Tafa Sego before the public meeting.

According to KWAM1, the intervention was aimed at bringing the disagreement to an end after years of tension.

The Fuji musician reportedly said his relationship with both men and his position as head of Team Lagos provided an opportunity for him to intervene. He added that resolving a disagreement that had lasted for years required more than simply asking the two sides to forget their differences.

The development was also announced through KWAM1’s digital media platform, which described the reconciliation as the culmination of his efforts to resolve the rift.

“After years of an age-long rift, MC Oluomo and Tafa Sego have finally settled their differences,” the statement said, adding that the settlement was intended to be final.

MC Oluomo and Tafa Sego were previously allies and prominent figures within the Lagos NURTW structure before their relationship became strained amid disagreements over leadership and influence within the union.

Their differences have, at various times, spilled into public events and generated tensions among their respective supporters.

In 2019, a supremacy dispute involving supporters of the two men was linked to violence at an APC campaign rally in Lagos, during which MC Oluomo was injured. Sego was subsequently declared wanted by the police over the incident, according to contemporary reports.

Despite the history between the two men, they have remained influential figures within the transport union.

The latest intervention by KWAM1 now offers a fresh attempt to restore their relationship and reduce tensions between their respective camps.

The musician said he became particularly concerned when the disagreement between the two men began generating tension beyond them, prompting him to take steps toward finding a lasting resolution.

With the latest meeting, MC Oluomo and Tafa Sego have publicly embraced and pledged to move beyond their longstanding differences.
