An Abuja woman who identifies as a supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appealed to Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike for intervention after her garden was reportedly demolished.
The woman made the appeal while speaking with Isaac Fayose, expressing distress over the demolition and questioning why her property was affected despite her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Look at my APC card, I’m a full Tinubu supporter, yet they came to demolish my garden here in Abuja,” she said.
The woman reportedly showed her APC membership card as she recounted the incident, appealing to Wike to look into her situation.
The woman is hoping the FCT minister will intervene in the matter, although details surrounding the demolition including the exact location, the reason given by authorities and whether compensation or prior notice was provided were not established in the account.
Her appeal has drawn attention to the concerns of residents and business operators affected by demolition exercises in the Federal Capital Territory.
There was no response from the FCT Administration included in the account, and it remains unclear whether the woman’s garden was demolished as part of an enforcement action, a development project or another exercise.
The incident highlights the importance of clarifying the circumstances surrounding demolitions and providing affected residents with information about the legal basis for such actions and any available process for seeking redress.
The woman’s appeal to Wike remains pending, based on the information available.
