The man, whose identity has not been publicly established in credible reports, reportedly said he was shocked to discover the allegations involving his wife and their daughter after the video began circulating on social media.
According to the statement attributed to him, he claimed that he had never known that his wife was allegedly producing inappropriate content involving their children. He reportedly said that when he confronted her about the video, she allegedly claimed that the material was generated using artificial intelligence.
The allegations come amid an ongoing investigation by the Anambra State Police Command into a disturbing video involving a minor.
Police confirmed that they arrested a 36-year-old woman, identified as Anulika Onyeanusia, in Onitsha on September 10, 2026, following open-source intelligence concerning the video.
The police said the operation also resulted in the rescue of four children, aged two, three, six and nine, while items considered relevant to the investigation were recovered.
The command also confirmed that the suspect’s husband was being interrogated as investigators sought to determine whether he had any connection with the alleged offence.
Police Commissioner Nnanna Oji Ama described the alleged exploitation of children as unacceptable and directed a thorough investigation. The command said the welfare, safety and privacy of the rescued children would remain a priority, with appropriate child-protection and support agencies expected to assist them.
The police have not publicly confirmed the husband’s reported account that he was unaware of the alleged abuse or that the video was AI-generated. Those claims therefore remain allegations pending the outcome of the investigation.
The identities of the children involved have not been disclosed in keeping with child-protection principles, while the investigation into the alleged offence and possible involvement of other persons continues.
