Fresh allegations have emerged against Senator Shehu Buba, with a man identified as Hassan accusing the Bauchi South lawmaker of having a role in the abduction of schoolchildren in Kaduna State and allegedly benefiting from ransom payments.
The claims were made by Hassan in video interviews that have circulated widely on social media. They form part of a broader series of allegations he has made concerning the senator's alleged links to bandit networks.
However, the allegations have not been established as fact, and Senator Buba has repeatedly denied accusations linking him to banditry or terrorist activities.
According to reports reproducing Hassan's claims, the whistleblower alleged that Senator Buba masterminded the mass abduction of schoolchildren in Kaduna and subsequently received a percentage of ransom allegedly paid for their release.
The allegation has generated renewed attention amid an ongoing controversy surrounding Buba and claims about his alleged contacts with criminal groups.
