Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reportedly thrown his support behind Peter Obi’s 2027 presidential bid, urging Nigerians to back the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate.
In the statement attributed to the singer, Davido warned that Nigeria would be “finished” if Obi failed to become president in the 2027 general election.
The singer was quoted as saying: “If we don't make Peter Obi president in 2027, we are finished.”
Davido also urged Nigerians to support Obi and the NDC, ending the message with the slogan: “Nigeria will be OK.”
The reported endorsement adds to the growing involvement of Nigerian entertainers and other public figures in political discussions ahead of the 2027 elections.
Davido has previously spoken publicly about governance, elections and youth participation, and has been involved in political discussions surrounding elections in Nigeria.
