‘Davido Texted Me Never to Insult Wizkid Again’ — Carter Efe

Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has revealed that Afrobeats superstar Davido personally warned him against insulting fellow music star Wizkid.

Carter made the disclosure during a recent livestream, where he addressed speculation surrounding his public comments about Wizkid and his close association with Davido.

According to the content creator, Davido sent him a private message instructing him to stop attacking Wizkid verbally.

“Davido texted me and told me I should never ever in my life insult Wizkid again,” Carter Efe said.

Carter also reportedly explained that the message was significant because some members of the public had assumed that Davido was behind his repeated comments about Wizkid.

The comedian, however, disputed that perception, suggesting that Davido's intervention actually demonstrated the opposite—that the singer did not want him using his name or association with him as a reason to attack Wizkid.

The revelation comes after a series of controversies involving Carter Efe and Wizkid. In March 2026, Carter publicly apologised to Wizkid and his fanbase after facing backlash over comments he had made about the singer. He promised at the time that he would not insult Wizkid again.

Carter's relationship with both artistes has attracted considerable attention over the years. He rose to wider prominence following his 2022 song “Machala,” which was inspired by Wizkid, but his relationship with the singer later became strained.
