CDHR Raises Alarm Over Corruption and Institutional Decay

The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR, has raised concerns over what it describes as growing corruption and institutional decay across Nigeria.

The organisation is calling for an independent and credible investigation into factors responsible for the weakening of public institutions.

According to CDHR, any investigation must be transparent and protected from political interference, with credible civil society organisations involved in monitoring the process.

The group also wants the findings made public and individuals found culpable prosecuted, regardless of their political status or affiliation.

CDHR warned that corruption and impunity could become deeply entrenched without stronger accountability measures, stressing that decisive action is necessary to restore public confidence in government institutions.
