The Director of Women Mobilisation of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Betta Edu, has celebrated Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as an example of courage, resilience and commitment to public service.
Edu, in a birthday tribute issued on behalf of the APC Women Mobilisation Directorate, said the First Lady’s journey had helped open conversations about the role and possibilities of women in national development.
Oluremi Tinubu turned 66 on Monday, September 21, 2026, with President Bola Tinubu and other political figures also sending birthday messages to her.
Edu said the significance of the First Lady’s example went beyond the office she occupies, describing her as a woman whose determination and concern for people had left an impression on many lives.
“Your Excellency, today I celebrate the woman behind the office—the woman whose quiet determination, resilience and deep concern for people have left an impression on countless lives,” Edu said.
She added that Oluremi Tinubu’s journey demonstrated that influence was not measured solely by positions held but also by the confidence and opportunities created for others.
“For Nigerian women, your story is a powerful reminder that we can carry our responsibilities with conviction, pursue our aspirations without restraint, and remain committed to lifting our communities,” she said.
Edu also prayed for continued guidance and protection for the First Lady and her family, while wishing her many more years of service.
“On your 66th birthday, I pray that Almighty God continues to order your steps, protect you and your family, and grant you many more years in which your presence will remain a source of encouragement to those you serve,” she said.
She further wished Oluremi Tinubu fulfilment and joy in the new chapter of her life.
“Happy birthday, Your Excellency. May this new chapter bring you deeper fulfilment, enduring joy and the satisfaction of seeing many more Nigerian women rise into their own strength,” Edu added.
Edu’s tribute came amid several birthday messages celebrating the First Lady.
President Tinubu, in a personal message, described his wife as his “truest friend and confidante,” while recalling her role in their family life and her involvement in humanitarian initiatives. He also prayed for her continued good health and joy.
The President specifically referenced initiatives associated with Oluremi Tinubu, including the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative, saying they had supported young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers.
Edu, on behalf of the APC Women Mobilisation Directorate, expressed appreciation for the example the First Lady continues to provide and wished her a memorable 66th birthday.
