2027: Yari-Led APC Campaign Council Delegation Arrives Kaduna for Stakeholder Consultations

The Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by its Director-General, Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, has arrived in Kaduna State as part of ongoing consultations with religious leaders and other stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The delegation’s Kaduna engagement followed consultations with Islamic scholars, or Ulama, in Bauchi State as the campaign council continues its outreach across northern Nigeria.

The team held discussions with Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, a prominent leader of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Kaduna, with discussions reportedly covering security, economic hardship and the need to sustain trust among communities across the state.

Yari was accompanied by several senior APC figures, including former Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former Kebbi State Governor Adamu Aliero, APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff, Senator Nasiru Sani Zangon Daura, James Faleke and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Ahmed Idris Wase.

The consultations are part of the council’s engagement with faith-based and other influential stakeholders as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections.

Reports on the Kaduna meeting said Sheikh Bala Lau commended Yari for engaging religious leaders but urged political leaders at all levels to listen more closely to citizens and communicate with them sincerely.

The delegation’s wider tour has included engagements in Plateau, Bauchi, Kaduna and Kano states.

In Bauchi, the team met Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru Bauchi, Khalifa of the Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Zawiya, who reportedly prayed for President Bola Tinubu and urged sustained dialogue between government and religious communities.

In Kano, Yari met Sheikh Qaribullahi Nasiru Kabara, leader of the Qadiriyya movement, who offered prayers for peace and urged the delegation to promote unity across the country.

The consultations come as political parties and prospective candidates begin preparations and wider stakeholder engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
