Ogala, who is also a Nollywood actress, was seen in a video circulating online sitting in her living room with a microphone as she addressed viewers about her political ambition and plans for Abia State.
The informal campaign appearance has attracted attention on social media, with discussions focusing both on the unusual setting and Ogala's decision to communicate directly with supporters from her home.
Ogala secured the AAC governorship ticket for Abia in May 2026 after emerging from the party's primary election. She is expected to face Otti, who is seeking another term on the Labour Party platform, alongside candidates from other political parties.
Since securing the ticket, Ogala has become increasingly vocal in her criticism of the Otti administration and has positioned herself as an alternative candidate for Abia voters.
In August, she unveiled a five-point agenda focused on issues including economic development, employment, education, healthcare, infrastructure, transparency and accountability. She also criticised aspects of Otti's record on electricity, Ariaria Market and pension payments.
Ogala has previously described her governorship ambition as a “divine mandate” and expressed confidence that she would become Abia's next governor.
Her latest living-room campaign video offers a less conventional approach to electioneering, particularly at a time when political candidates increasingly use social media and digital platforms to reach voters.
The AAC candidate has also previously challenged the Abia government over its campaign advertising regulations.
In July, Ogala rejected a ₦150 million campaign advertising permit reportedly required for governorship candidates, arguing that the fee could make it difficult for less wealthy candidates to participate fully in the electoral process. The state agency responsible for the policy said the fees applied to political parties generally and were intended to regulate outdoor political advertising.
Ogala's emergence has added another dimension to the 2027 Abia governorship contest, with the actress-turned-politician seeking to build a campaign around grassroots engagement and criticism of the incumbent administration.
Her campaign has also attracted national attention because of her association with the AAC, led nationally by Omoyele Sowore.
As the election approaches, Ogala will have to take her message beyond social media appearances and convince voters across Abia State of her programme for governance.
For now, her decision to launch a campaign message from her living room has provided one of the more unusual images of the emerging 2027 Abia governorship race.
