Suspected Kidnapper Allegedly Confesses to Receiving ₦25,000 Transport Fare After Arrest in Warri Operation

One of the suspects arrested in a recent security operation in Warri has reportedly confessed that he and his accomplices were given ₦25,000 as transport fare to join other members of a kidnapping gang.

The confession allegedly followed their arrest by Nigerian soldiers during a coordinated operation aimed at disrupting criminal activities in the area. Security sources said the operation ultimately led to the apprehension of several suspects linked to kidnapping activities in the region.

According to accounts from the interrogation, the suspect claimed the money was meant to facilitate movement and coordination with other members of the alleged criminal network.

Military authorities have not yet released a detailed official statement on the incident, but security operations in parts of Delta State have continued in recent weeks as part of efforts to curb kidnapping, armed robbery, and other violent crimes.

The arrest has been described by security observers as part of ongoing efforts by Nigerian troops and other security agencies to dismantle criminal groups operating in the South-South region.

Authorities are expected to provide further updates as investigations progress and efforts continue to track down other suspected members of the network.

Meanwhile, residents have been urged to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible intelligence to aid ongoing operations.
