Fifteen National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members have reportedly been kidnapped by gunmen while returning from the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday as the corps members were travelling from the orientation camp, raising fresh concerns over the safety of young Nigerians deployed across the country for the mandatory national service programme.
According to reports, the corps members were intercepted by armed men who allegedly forced them into the surrounding forest. Their current whereabouts and condition remain unclear.
