Daughter of Veteran Actor Taiwo Hassan ‘Ogogo’ Appeals for Help Over Father’s Reported Stage 4 Cancer

The daughter of legendary Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has made an emotional public appeal for help, saying her father is battling stage 4 cancer and urgently needs access to medical treatment.

In a distressing plea, she said the family was not asking members of the public for financial donations but was seeking assistance in locating a hospital or medical facility capable of treating him.

“Please, I’m here to ask for help for my dad. He has stage 4 cancer and it’s really bad. The hospital is refusing to treat him.

“We are not begging for money — money is not the problem. All we need is a hospital or a place that can treat him and give him a chance to get better.

“Please help us.”

The appeal has sparked concern among fans and members of the Nigerian entertainment industry, with many expressing sympathy and calling for urgent support for the veteran actor.

Taiwo Hassan, widely known as Ogogo, is one of the most recognisable figures in the Yoruba film industry, with a career spanning several decades and numerous appearances in Nollywood and Yoruba-language productions.

The family's appeal is expected to draw attention to the urgent need for specialised cancer treatment and access to advanced medical facilities for patients facing serious illnesses.

As of the time of the appeal, the family is seeking credible medical institutions or specialists willing and able to assess his condition and provide the necessary treatment.

The family has stressed that its immediate concern is not fundraising, but finding a suitable hospital that can give the veteran actor access to urgent and appropriate care.
