VDM Calls for Protection of Whistleblower Amid Allegations Involving Presidency Official

Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has called on Nigerian security agencies to ensure the safety of a man identified as Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, who recently made allegations involving the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

In a video circulating on social media, VDM said his immediate concern was the safety of the man making the claims, urging security agencies to protect him while any investigation into the allegations is carried out.

"I don't want to hear that anything happened to him," VDM said, arguing that the whistleblower should be kept safe so investigators can establish the facts surrounding the allegations.

The activist also called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the claims, saying Nigerians deserve clarity on the issues raised. He argued that the allegations should neither be dismissed outright nor treated as established facts without due process.

VDM further referred to reports of an earlier police investigation into a deceased individual allegedly connected to the matter and questioned the circumstances surrounding that case. He urged authorities to make the findings of any investigations public in order to promote accountability and public confidence.

The activist also revisited separate allegations relating to a disputed property in Abuja, claiming that questions had previously been raised over the ownership and allocation of the land. He said the matter should equally be investigated by the appropriate authorities. However, he did not present evidence to substantiate the claims during the broadcast.

Throughout the video, VDM maintained that his primary concern was ensuring the safety of the whistleblower and allowing law enforcement agencies to investigate the allegations without intimidation or interference.

As of the time of filing this report, Femi Gbajabiamila and the Presidency had not publicly responded to the claims referenced by VDM. The allegations remain unverified, and there has been no official finding by law enforcement or any court establishing wrongdoing by those mentioned.

The case has continued to generate discussion on social media, with many Nigerians calling for a transparent investigation while emphasizing the importance of due process and the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise.
