Sowore Offers Legal Support to DJ Chicken, Criticizes Charges Against Content Creator

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has offered to assist content creator DJ Chicken with legal advocacy, saying he believes the social media personality should not be imprisoned over the charges filed against him.

In a statement shared on social media, Sowore appealed to anyone with contact information for DJ Chicken's family or relatives to reach out, expressing his willingness to help challenge what he described as burdensome charges.

"I want to help get DJ Chicken out of prison because I do not believe he deserves to spend a day behind bars; he is entitled to his liberty under the law," Sowore wrote.

He criticized the Nigeria Police Force, alleging that prosecutorial powers were being used against young Nigerians rather than addressing broader societal issues.

According to Sowore, young people require greater access to opportunities, mentorship, and justice instead of what he described as persecution and prolonged incarceration.

In the same statement, Sowore also made allegations against Seyi Tinubu, claiming that he was involved in organizing private jet trips for young women to Abuja and that drug use occurred at parties. Sowore further asserted that Seyi Tinubu, rather than DJ Chicken, should face imprisonment.

As of the time of filing this report, Sowore did not provide evidence to substantiate those allegations, and Seyi Tinubu has previously denied various allegations made against him in public discourse. There has been no public response from Seyi Tinubu or his representatives to these latest claims.

The case involving DJ Chicken remains before the relevant authorities, and the specific charges against him are expected to be determined through the judicial process. Under Nigerian law, all accused persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
