Peter Akah Questions Oversight Following Presidency’s Denial of Prince Adeyemi Appointment

Public affairs commentator Peter Akah has raised questions about the operations of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi following the Presidency's denial that he was officially appointed to head the now-disowned agency linked to him.

Reacting to the controversy, Akah argued that the scale of the agency's operations suggested significant institutional access despite the Presidency's position that Adeyemi had no valid appointment.

“He got office location inside Federal Secretariat. From there, he employed more than 300 staff. This impostor went ahead to get staff even from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation,” Akah said.

He further questioned how Adeyemi was allegedly able to establish banking relationships and organize high-profile engagements.

“This impostor was able to access the Central Bank and open both pound, dollar, and naira accounts, even with all the checks that are there. This impostor was able to host diplomatic events, host diplomats, and even host an investment summit,” he stated.

Akah's remarks come amid ongoing investigations into the activities of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi and the operations of the agency he reportedly led. The controversy intensified after the Presidency maintained that Adeyemi was never officially appointed, while police investigations reportedly found that documents linked to the appointment contained a forged signature.

The comments have fueled public debate over how an individual allegedly lacking official authorization could operate from government premises, recruit personnel, and engage with public institutions and diplomatic stakeholders.

As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency has not publicly responded to Akah's latest remarks. Authorities are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the agency's establishment, its operations, and the authenticity of documents associated with it. The allegations remain subject to ongoing legal and investigative processes.
