The African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has expressed confidence in her chances of winning the state's governorship election, declaring that she believes it is God's will for her to become governor.
Speaking to supporters, Ogala said Abia residents would ultimately accept her leadership, insisting that her emergence as governor was divinely ordained.
“You don’t have a choice in Abia. I’ll be your governor; God has said it, and so shall it be,” she said.
The actress-turned-politician's remarks have attracted attention on social media, with supporters describing them as a demonstration of confidence in her campaign, while critics argued that the statement could be interpreted as overly assertive.
Ogala has recently intensified her political activities in Abia State, presenting herself as an alternative to the state's established political parties and promising to pursue policies aimed at improving governance and public welfare if elected.
Her latest declaration adds to the growing political discourse ahead of the governorship election, as aspirants continue to engage voters and outline their visions for the state's future.
The governorship contest in Abia is expected to feature candidates from several political parties, with campaigns likely to intensify as the election approaches.
