Traumatized Police Officer Survives Deadly Ambush in Enugu After Colleagues Were Reportedly Killed

A police officer is reportedly receiving trauma support after witnessing the killing of three of his colleagues during a violent attack by suspected kidnappers in the Lomalinda area of Enugu earlier today.

According to preliminary reports from security sources, the officers were on duty when they came under sudden attack by armed assailants suspected to be kidnappers operating in the area. The incident is said to have occurred during a routine patrol, though exact operational details remain unclear.

During the attack, three officers were reportedly overpowered and killed, while one officer survived but sustained severe psychological trauma from witnessing the incident. The surviving officer is currently said to be in a distressed condition and is receiving medical and psychological attention.

Security operatives from the Nigeria Police Force have since been deployed to the area, with reinforcement teams reportedly combing surrounding communities in an effort to track down the attackers and recover weapons used in the assault.

Residents of the Lomalinda axis described the incident as terrifying, noting that the sound of gunfire caused panic and forced many people to flee for safety. The area has since been placed under heightened security surveillance as investigations continue.

Authorities have not yet released official identities of the officers involved, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. However, suspected kidnapping gangs have been active in parts of southeastern Nigeria in recent times, prompting increased security operations in affected regions.

Police officials are expected to issue a formal statement as investigations progress and efforts continue to apprehend those responsible for the deadly ambush.
