The scout who played a key role in discovering and facilitating the move of young footballer Zadok Yohanna to Europe has reportedly returned to his grassroots academy in Kaduna, expressing pride in the player’s rapid development and success.
The scout, whose efforts helped Yohanna transition from the Ikon Allah Football Academy to English Premier League side Brighton, was said to have “bragged” about the player’s progress during his visit, describing the achievement as proof of what disciplined talent development can produce.
According to academy sources, the scout encouraged young players at the academy to remain focused, stating that more opportunities to move to Europe would come if they continued to train hard and maintain discipline.
He reportedly hinted at ongoing plans to identify and facilitate additional transfers of promising players to European clubs, as part of a wider talent pipeline being developed from grassroots football in Northern Nigeria.
The Ikon Allah Football Academy has continued to gain attention for producing emerging talents, with Yohanna’s breakthrough now serving as a major motivational example for other aspiring footballers.
Coaches at the academy welcomed the scout’s return, saying it reinforces the importance of scouting networks and international exposure in advancing Nigerian football careers.
Football observers say Yohanna’s story could inspire increased investment in grassroots scouting systems, particularly as European clubs continue to expand their search for young talent across Africa.
