In preparation for the 2027 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has inaugurated an all-female grassroots mobilisation arm aimed at strengthening the party's electoral base across Nigeria.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, PDP National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu said the initiative is designed to mobilise women voters and expand the party's grassroots presence nationwide.
He disclosed that the party plans to recruit approximately 5,000 female foot soldiers in each of Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to him, the women will serve as community mobilisers, advocating support for PDP candidates, particularly during governorship and other elections scheduled for 2027.
The initiative, he said, reflects the party's determination to increase women's participation in political campaigns while building a stronger grassroots structure ahead of the polls.
