Pastor David Oyedepo Speaks on Insecurity, Comments on Kidnapping and National Security Response

Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has made remarks on the state of insecurity in Nigeria, drawing attention to the country’s response capabilities in high-profile cases involving prominent individuals.

In a statement circulating online, Oyedepo commented on the issue of kidnapping in the country, suggesting that the reaction of security agencies often appears more decisive when high-profile citizens are involved.

“As wild and senseless as the kidnappers in Nigeria are, would they kidnap the son of the President? That’s when you will now know Nigeria has forces,” he said.

The cleric further expressed confidence in divine protection, stating, “No agent of dev!l can touch me and go free.”

His remarks have sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users interpreting them as a criticism of perceived inequality in security responses, while others focused on his spiritual declarations regarding protection and faith.

Security analysts note that Nigeria continues to face widespread challenges related to kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism, with responses often shaped by intelligence availability, terrain, and operational capacity rather than public visibility alone.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from security agencies regarding the cleric’s comments.
