A resident of Lokogoma in the Federal Capital Territory has recounted a terrifying night following an alleged attempted kidnapping incident that reportedly involved heavy gunfire and suspected surveillance by armed attackers.
The resident, in a distressed account shared online, described how the attack unfolded late at night, saying that the assailants had allegedly monitored the area hours before launching the operation.
“We were asleep when heavy gunshots rang out, and the terrorists had surveyed the area hours before the attack,” the resident said.
According to the account, the sudden gunfire caused panic among residents, with many reportedly taking cover as the suspected attackers attempted to force their way into targeted locations.
The incident has sparked renewed concerns over rising insecurity in parts of Abuja, particularly in residential outskirts where cases of kidnapping and armed robbery have been reported in recent months.
