Father Mbaka Alleges Kidnapping Incident Is Plot Against Tinubu, Sparks Reactions

Founder of Adoration Ministries, Father Mbaka, has stirred controversy after alleging that a recent kidnapping incident in Oyo State may be politically motivated and intended to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement circulating online, Mbaka claimed that some security-related incidents in the country could be part of a broader plot to destabilize the government, referencing the recent school kidnapping case in Oyo State as an example.

“Let Nigerians not be deceived. That was what they did to Jonathan,” he said, suggesting that similar tactics were allegedly used in previous administrations.

He implied that such incidents could be aimed at creating public dissatisfaction and weakening confidence in the current leadership of Bola Tinubu.

The remarks have generated mixed reactions across political and social circles, with some Nigerians interpreting the statement as a warning about politicization of insecurity, while others criticized it as an unverified conspiracy theory that risks escalating tension around sensitive national security issues.

Security analysts emphasize that kidnapping and banditry in Nigeria are driven by multiple factors, including criminal networks, ransom economies, and weak rural security infrastructure, cautioning against attributing incidents to political orchestration without evidence.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the Presidency or security agencies regarding the cleric’s claims.
