Popular content creator Carter Efe has publicly questioned the process surrounding a car giveaway allegedly organized by Nigerian music star D’Banj, claiming he has yet to receive a vehicle he was announced as having won.
The controversy emerged during a livestream in which Carter Efe reportedly called fellow content creator Nasboi to seek clarification on when and how he would receive the car.
According to viewers of the livestream, Nasboi initially expressed displeasure at being contacted during a live broadcast, stating that he preferred private conversations to remain off-camera.
The discussion later shifted to the requirements for claiming the vehicle, with Nasboi allegedly informing Carter Efe that certain verification procedures, including the provision of a Bank Verification Number (BVN), would be necessary.
The conversation appeared to create confusion, as Carter Efe reportedly became concerned that he might be required to make a payment before taking possession of the vehicle.
Following the exchange, Carter Efe alleged that he had been informed that a 10 percent payment was required as part of the process, a claim that led him to question the legitimacy of the giveaway.
He subsequently accused the organizers of failing to deliver on the promise and suggested that he may have been used as part of a publicity campaign.
The giveaway had attracted significant attention online after reports indicated that D’Banj was giving away three vehicles, with Carter Efe allegedly among the selected recipients.
The allegations have since generated mixed reactions on social media. While some users have urged patience until the organizers provide clarification, others have called for greater transparency regarding the terms and conditions of celebrity giveaways.
As of the time of filing this report, neither D’Banj nor his management team has publicly responded to Carter Efe’s latest allegations, and the claims remain unverified.
