Sowore Speaks on Blord Bail, Claims Political Pressure Ahead of Elections

Nigerian activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has reacted to the reported bail of Blord, while also making strong political claims about his ongoing activism and opposition to the current administration.

In a statement shared publicly, Sowore said he was not in conflict with anyone, insisting that his actions remain focused on broader national concerns. He also made emotional remarks suggesting personal risk in his advocacy, stating that he is willing to make extreme sacrifices for what he described as “freedom for Nigerians.”

Sowore further alleged that there are ongoing attempts to silence him through legal and political means, claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is targeting him with imprisonment efforts. He also declared his intention to continue political activities ahead of future elections.

“BLORD has been granted bail and I’m not fighting with anybody… if they have to take my life for Nigerians to be free, I’ll gladly do it,” he was quoted as saying. “Now I have to move on to my other cases… Tinubu still wants to jail me and I need to defeat him in the next election.”

He also accused elements within the opposition space of being weakened, describing them as ineffective in challenging the current government.

The remarks have sparked reactions online, with supporters praising his consistency in activism, while critics argue that the language used is extreme and politically charged.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the Presidency regarding the allegations, and the legal status of Sowore’s claims remains unverified.
