A political development has stirred conversation after a statement announced the reception of prominent Nigerian figures Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Peter Obi into the National Democratic Coalition.
In the statement attributed to HSD, the arrival of both politicians was described as “a pleasure and an honour,” emphasizing their stature and influence in Nigeria’s political landscape.
“We warmly welcome them and trust that they will join us in building a formidable, ideologically driven party for generations to come—one that embodies the true spirit of selfless service to the people,” the statement read.
The message also congratulated the leaders and expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their continued support and prayers.
The development, if confirmed, could signal a significant shift within opposition politics, as both Kwankwaso and Obi have been key figures with strong support bases across different regions of the country.
However, as of the time of reporting, there has been no independent confirmation or official announcement from the camps of either Kwankwaso or Obi regarding their alleged move to the NDC.
Political observers say such alignments, if validated, could reshape alliances ahead of future elections, particularly among opposition groups seeking stronger cohesion and ideological direction.
