FCT Revenue Agency Staff Embark on Protest Over Poor Working Conditions, Threaten Strike Action

Staff of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Revenue Agency have embarked on a protest over what they described as poor working conditions, inadequate welfare packages, and unresolved administrative concerns.

The workers, who staged a peaceful demonstration within the agency premises in Abuja, accused management of neglecting staff welfare despite the increasing workload and revenue generation responsibilities placed on them.

According to the protesting staff, long-standing issues such as lack of proper remuneration structure, delayed benefits, and insufficient working tools have significantly affected productivity and morale within the agency.

The aggrieved workers warned that if their demands are not urgently addressed, they may proceed on an indefinite strike action that could disrupt revenue collection activities within the Federal Capital Territory Administration.

They called on the management of the agency and relevant authorities in the Federal Capital Territory Administration to intervene swiftly and engage in meaningful dialogue to prevent further escalation.

As of the time of reporting, management of the agency has yet to release an official response to the protest or the threat of industrial action.

Observers note that any prolonged strike could impact internally generated revenue processes within the FCT, potentially affecting public services dependent on such funds.
