Gospel singer Ebuka Songs has reacted to criticism surrounding his 2024 worship appearance with Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo and entertainer IK Ogbonna.
In a recent reflection, the singer recalled that he faced backlash at the time for associating with individuals some critics described as “unbelievers.” However, he said he remained focused on his ministry and chose to ignore the criticism.
“Some of you criticized me then for associating with an ‘unbeliever’, but I’m grateful I ignored the noise,” he was quoted as saying.
The 2024 worship gathering, which featured moments of prayer and praise alongside the Nollywood figures, had sparked mixed reactions on social media, with supporters praising unity and critics questioning the collaboration.
Ebuka Songs’ recent remarks have since reignited discussions about the intersection of faith, entertainment, and public perception, particularly within Nigeria’s gospel music space.
As of the time of reporting, neither Alexx Ekubo nor IK Ogbonna has publicly responded to the renewed comments.
