Nigerian commentator VDM has publicly criticized the administration of President Bola Tinubu, describing it as “the worst when it comes to security of this country.”
In a statement shared on social media, VDM highlighted what he perceives as a sharp contrast between past political activism and the current leadership. “And he was the one who led protests against [Goodluck] Jonathan in 2014/2015, he reaches Tinubu turn now, e no fit run the country,” VDM wrote.
He further expressed his opinion that President Tinubu should no longer hold office, stating: “In my own view, Tinubu should not be the president of this country anymore.”
The comments come amid rising public scrutiny over the Tinubu administration’s handling of security challenges, including ongoing concerns about insurgency, banditry, and other violent crimes across Nigeria. VDM’s remarks have sparked significant reactions online, with supporters echoing the criticism and others defending the president’s performance.
As debates around national security continue to dominate public discourse, political analysts suggest that such statements may further intensify scrutiny on the government ahead of the next election cycle.
