Tinubu Reacts to ADC Crisis, Says “They Privatized Another Man’s Political Party”

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commented on the internal crisis rocking the opposition party, the African Democratic Congress, describing the situation as an attempt by some individuals to “privatize another man’s political party.”

Speaking on the development, Tinubu said the disagreement within the party reflects deeper issues of internal control and ownership struggles in Nigeria’s political space.

“They privatized another man’s political party, he said no,” the President was quoted as saying, in reference to the ongoing leadership tussle and factional disputes within the ADC.

The statement has since generated mixed reactions, with supporters of the ruling party praising the President’s remarks as a reflection of political reality, while opposition voices argue that the comment was aimed at undermining internal party autonomy.

The ADC has been facing recurring internal conflicts involving leadership claims, disciplinary actions, and competing factions, which have continued to draw attention from political observers.

Analysts note that Nigeria’s opposition parties often struggle with internal cohesion, especially during periods of heightened political activity ahead of elections.

As of the time of reporting, the ADC leadership had not issued an official response to the President’s comments.
