Veteran Nollywood actress Remilekun Oshodi has publicly expressed her backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the launch of EKO57, a support group designed to mobilize grassroots support for Tinubu’s potential second term, Surutu described the president and his family as “good people” and urged Nigerians, particularly members of the Yoruba community, to support one another.
She also addressed claims linking Tinubu to the rising fuel prices, arguing that such economic issues are influenced by global factors rather than domestic policy alone.
Surutu’s endorsement is seen as a significant celebrity-backed political support ahead of the next elections, reflecting the growing involvement of public figures in shaping voter sentiment and mobilizing grassroots advocacy.
The launch of EKO57 attracted a wide range of supporters, with organizers emphasizing that the group aims to rally youth and community engagement in favor of Tinubu’s leadership.
