A Nigerian lady has sparked conversations online after sharing a story about a man she met during her time at a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp who, according to her, had an unusual attitude towards money and women.
In her account, the lady said the young man openly declared that he would rather tear his money into pieces than give it to a woman. She explained that the statement shocked many of those present, especially because it was made casually during a conversation among fellow corps members.
According to her, the man insisted that he did not see any reason to spend his money on women, adding that he preferred to destroy it than feel “used” or pressured into giving it out. The comment quickly became a topic of discussion among other corps members, with many reacting in disbelief and amusement.
After the story was shared online, it drew mixed reactions from social media users. While some condemned the man’s stance as extreme and disrespectful, others defended his right to decide how he spends his money, arguing that no one is entitled to another person’s finances.
The story has since fueled broader conversations about relationships, financial expectations, and gender dynamics among young Nigerians, particularly in social settings like the NYSC camp where diverse views often collide.
