Nigerian singer Kcee has shared insights into how he has managed his personal life, revealing that veteran musician Daddy Showkey advised him to keep his marriage private to protect it from public scrutiny.
In a recent interview, Kcee explained that he followed this advice carefully:
“Daddy Showkey advised me to get married early and keep it secret, because if the public found out too soon, they would spoil it while the marriage was still young. When I married my wife, I told her about the plan to keep our marriage private. We unfollowed each other on Facebook and all other social media platforms. We didn’t want any negative energy or outside interference.”
Kcee also shared that when his wife gave birth, he sent her and the children abroad to shield them from undue attention. It was only during the COVID-19 lockdown, amid the boredom of staying at home, that he began posting pictures of his family online.
He further explained that Daddy Showkey had adopted a similar approach when raising his own children, avoiding school visits and public displays to prevent favoritism or special treatment. Kcee said he adopted the same approach so his children could enjoy a normal life, free from media and public pressures.
