Outrage as Man Issues Strong Curse Against Yoruba Supporters of Tinubu Ahead of 2027 Elections

A viral social media video has sparked widespread reactions after a Nigerian man delivered a strongly worded warning and curse directed at Yoruba individuals and celebrities allegedly supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In the video circulating across X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and TikTok, the unidentified speaker accused some Yoruba parents, public figures, and political influencers of “selling out the future” of younger generations in exchange for food items and political incentives allegedly distributed during campaign activities.

The man, visibly emotional, claimed that anyone campaigning for Tinubu’s government because of gifts such as rice and noodles would face severe consequences, invoking curses not only on them but also on their children. He warned that Nigerians, particularly youths, would suffer greatly if Tinubu secures another term in the 2027 presidential election.

The video quickly gained traction online, triggering heated debates among Nigerians. While some users supported his frustration over economic hardship and political loyalty driven by incentives, many others condemned the language used, describing it as dangerous, divisive, and capable of inciting ethnic or political tension.

Several commentators urged citizens to express political disagreement peacefully without resorting to threats, curses, or inflammatory rhetoric.

Political analysts and civic groups reacting to the controversy emphasized the need for respectful democratic participation as Nigeria gradually moves toward another election cycle. They warned that inflammatory statements  whether from supporters or critics  risk deepening ethnic divisions and escalating political hostility.

Observers also noted the growing role of social media in amplifying extreme political opinions, especially as economic concerns and campaign discussions intensify nationwide.

The incident reflects increasing political polarization ahead of 2027, with online spaces becoming battlegrounds for competing narratives about governance, economic performance, and regional loyalty.

As of the time of filing this report, no official statement has been issued by government authorities regarding the viral video, but many Nigerians continue to call for calmer dialogue and issue-based political conversations rather than personal attacks or threats.
