Several Access Bank customers have expressed frustration online, claiming that the bank now imposes two separate charges for a single money transfer, describing the move as “madness” and “extortion.”
Users of the popular social media platform X shared posts complaining that every single transfer now attracts double fees, with some highlighting the financial burden this places on everyday transactions.
One user wrote, “When you make one single transfer, they charge you two times. This is total madness and extortion,” echoing widespread discontent among account holders.
The complaints have reignited discussions on banking fees, transparency, and customer protection in Nigeria’s financial sector. Consumer advocacy groups have called on the Central Bank of Nigeria and regulatory authorities to investigate the charges and ensure banks uphold fair practices.
Access Bank has not yet released an official response to the allegations, while customers continue to demand clarity and relief from what they consider unfair charges.
