Eyewitness Alleges Armed Attackers Operated Alongside Military Vehicles in Plateau Community — VeryDarkMan Interview Sparks Concern
Controversial social commentator VeryDarkMan has stirred nationwide reactions after sharing an interview with a youth leader from Angwan Rukuba, who recounted a disturbing eyewitness account of a recent violent incident in the area.
During the interview conducted in Jos, the community representative alleged that armed men, described as Fulani attackers, stormed the neighborhood wearing military camouflage and opened fire indiscriminately.
“Those Fulani men came shooting, wearing army camouflage, shooting everywhere. Moments later, we saw army Hilux vehicles giving them cover,” the youth leader claimed in the video shared online.
The allegations, which remain unverified by security authorities, have generated widespread concern and debate across social media platforms, with many Nigerians calling for an independent investigation into the incident.
Residents of parts of Plateau State have faced recurring security challenges over the years, including communal clashes and armed attacks that have led to casualties and displacement of communities.
Security analysts caution that claims linking attackers to military presence are serious and require thorough investigation to avoid misinformation and escalation of tensions. They urged authorities to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and reassure residents of their safety.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Nigerian Army nor other security agencies had issued an official statement responding to the allegations raised in the interview.
The development has renewed calls from civil society groups and community leaders for increased transparency, accountability, and stronger protection for vulnerable communities affected by insecurity in Plateau State.
