Young Farmers in Nigeria (YoFiN) has unveiled its 2026 National Action Plan, themed “Scaling Impact, Strengthening Voice, and Advancing Youth-Led Agricultural Transformation”, aiming to deepen the impact of youth in Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
Entering 2026 with over 15,000 members nationwide, YoFiN plans to build on its 2025 achievements by focusing on measurable national impact, policy implementation, international representation, and expanded empowerment for young farmers.
According to the document sent to NaijaTalkTalk by the Coordinator of the Young Farmers in Nigeria, Key priorities for the year include supporting the National Youth Agricultural Technology and Innovation Policy (NYATIP), expanding youth participation in agriculture, strengthening policy advocacy, improving access to opportunities, and representing Nigerian youth farmers in major global forums on agriculture and climate change.
Strategic Focus Areas:

Support NYATIP implementation and ensure youth inclusion in agricultural policy.

Expand membership and strengthen state chapters.

Build capacity through training, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.

Maintain national awareness campaigns and digital engagement.

Quarterly Action Plan 2026:

Q1 (Jan–Mar): Strengthen internal coordination, expand membership, engage policymakers, and develop advocacy roadmap.

Q2 (Apr–Jun): Support NYATIP implementation, facilitate access to opportunities, organize training programs, and publish policy briefs.

Q3 (Jul–Sep): Host National Youth Farmer Summit, expand partnerships, and participate in Africa Food Systems Forum.

Q4 (Oct–Dec): Participate in World Food Forum and COP Climate Conference, host YoFiN Annual Congress, publish impact report, and prepare 2027 strategy.
Continuous Activities:
