2027 Elections Framed as City Boys vs. Village Boys, Fayose Predicts PBAT Victory in South East and South South

Businessman and political commentator Isaac Fayose has described the upcoming 2027 elections as a contest between what he calls the City Boys movement and the Village Boys movement, signaling a perceived generational and socio-cultural divide in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Fayose expressed confidence that former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, widely known as PBAT, will emerge victorious, particularly across the South East and South South regions. He emphasized that Obi’s grassroots popularity, track record, and appeal to younger, urban voters would translate into a decisive win.

Speaking on the dynamics of the elections, Fayose said, “The 2027 election is shaping up to be a battle between the City Boys movement and the Village Boys movement. But one thing is certain: Peter Obi will still win convincingly across the entire South East and South South regions.”

Political analysts note that framing the election in this way highlights regional loyalties, urban-rural political divides, and the increasing importance of youth mobilization and grassroots campaigns in shaping electoral outcomes.

As parties intensify preparations, attention is expected to remain on voter engagement, strategic alliances, and how these socio-political movements influence the 2027 polls nationwide.
