The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has inaugurated a three-member panel to investigate and resolve the ongoing crisis surrounding the Onido stool in Ido.
The crisis reportedly involves three individuals claiming authority over the same traditional domain, leading to tension and uncertainty among residents. The panel, inaugurated by the Olubadan, is expected to thoroughly examine the claims and provide recommendations aimed at restoring peace and clarity to the troubled domain.
In a statement accompanying the inauguration, Oba Ladoja emphasized the importance of due process and fairness, urging all parties to cooperate fully with the panel. He noted that traditional institutions play a critical role in community cohesion, and disputes over leadership must be resolved transparently to maintain public confidence.
Local leaders and residents have welcomed the move, expressing hope that the panel’s findings will bring a lasting resolution to the dispute and prevent further tensions in the area.
The three-member committee is expected to submit its report to the Olubadan in the coming weeks.
